History[]
- "Extremely mean and arrogant man. Hungry for power, he seems to have known Tchia's father from long ago."
— Journal Description
Twelve years ago, Pwi Dua was a shaman on the archipelago. He was an adamant believer of a great event called "laenge". He believed it could only be stared by reaching a place known as "Koningomen" which could be done by building a really tall tower known as the Draie. Pwi Dua was not the only believer as he knew that six attempts to build Draie had been done in the past but all had failed since it takes a millennia to complete one. To accomplish his dream, Pwi Dua created an army which he called Ajuju and built his headquarters somewhere wihin a dense fog. To build his army's ranks, Pwi Dua had hundreds of people kidnapped via aircraft and brought to his headquarters. Those that resisted were forced to pass through a blue light were their souls were taken, transforming them into Henchmen. Those that did not resist like Wael were allowed to keep their humanity and become high ranking members of his organization.
Knowing that he would not see the completion of the Draie in his lifetime, Pwi Dua sought to revive the God of the Depths Meavora and use his power to reach Koningomen. One day, the country's rulers, Joxu and Heia, bore twins, a Makanu and Tchia. Pwi Dua recognized that the twins had special gifts which could be used to restore Meavora and sought to have them scarified at the god's prison, Hua. He ordained to the country's people that the twins needed to be sacrificed to the God of the Depths Meavora or they would be subject to the God's wrath. By using the country's populace and his Ajuju, the King and Queen were forced to bring their children to Hua. Pwi Dua threw their Makanu into Meavora's pit and approached Joxu to do the same with Tchia. However, a Masked Warrior attacked him which allowed Joxu to escape with his daughter. Despite this, Pwi Dua managed to cut off the Masked Warrior's arm. Not long after, Meavora successfully absorbed Makanuy's gift which allowed him to escape Hua. Meavora then took over the throne at Ga Ngazo and raised the throne room high into the sky, creating Pwi Dua's Draie. However, with Tchia's escape, Meavora's power, along with the Draie, was incomplete. Over the next twelve years, Pwi Dua searched for Joxu to find the girl so that his dream would finally be realized. He also continued to build his personal army by kidnapping adults and gifting any children he captured to Meavora to eat.
One day, Pwi Dua followed a man named Tre to the island of Uma. After landing on the island with his aircraft, he got off of it with two Maano and approached Joxu. After remarking how long it had been since he had seen the former King, Pwi Dua had the Maano tie hm up and throw him on the helicopter. As they were taking off, Tchia chased after them, much to Pwi Dua's surprise. The girl then possessed his machete and cut his face. He quickly recovered and pushed her off of the aircraft into the water below.
Sometime later at Ga Ngazo, Pwi Dua was in the throne room with Meavora when Tchia entered for an audience. As Tchia was preparing to present her offerings, Pwi Dua recognized her and told Meavora that she was the girl they had been searching for. Pwi Dua then attempted to capture Tchia when the new Masked Warrior appeared and rescued her. To retaliate for Tchia's escape, Meavora had Pwi Dua capture the people of Weliwele and Hunahmi. While at Weliwele, Pwi Dua was confronted by Tchia but was forced to flee with the prisoners once the Masked Warrior interrupted. He took all over the adults to Xupi Maano where Joxu was held while children like Louise were devoured by Meavora. Tchia later managed to shutdown Xupi Maano, prompting Pwi Dua to quickly arrive in his aircraft to prevent the prisoners from escaping. After being confronted by the Masked Warrior, Pwi Dua threw explosives into the compound and escaped. This created a large explosion that destroyed the factory, killing all of the prisoners including Joxu, Gaby, and the Hunahmi Chief.
Pwi Dua was later present in Ga Ngazo when Tchia and the Masked Warrior, revealed to be Heia, arrived. Meavora told Tchia that if she surrendered, he would released Tre from the locked cage beside him. After Tchia agreed to these terms, Meavora released Tre and devoured Tchia. However, Tchia managed to throw a boucan into Meavora's heart, forcing him to throw up her and all of the children from his body. This returned Meavora to his wood worm form and he was then squished and killed by Heia. Meavora's death caused the floating throne room to fall back towards the ground. To everyone's surprise, Makanu used his gift to stop the collapse and reconnected the throne room with the rest of Ga Ngazo.
With Meavora now gone, Pwi Dua panicked and took Makanu captive, running outside. As his aircraft arrived, Pwi Dua fatally struck Makanu in the back with his machete and threw him towards the crowd. While Heia managed to catch him, Makanu had already passed away from his injuries. As Heia lay weeping over her son's body, Tchia used her gift to possess Pwi Dua's machete once again and severed his hand. Pwi Dua managed to escape and return to his headquarters. With his plans to reach Koningomen ruined, he sought out another way to make his dream a reality. He continued gathering resources by having his Henchmen stationed at the former Maano Camps around the archipelago.
Trivia[]
- Pwi Dua's severed hand can be found in the bed of a truck beside the helipad at Ga Ngazo. Like other objects, Tchia can use Soul-Jump to possess it. She can make it walk by using the hand's fingers as well as make it pose.
- Possessing the hand will unlock the "Thing" Trophy/Achievement. The Trophy's name is also a reference to Thing from the Addams Family.
