Heia is a character that appears in Tchia. She is Tchia's mother.

History[]

Twelve years ago, Heia and her husband Joxu were the rulers of an archipelago. Their reign was peaceful and they treated their subjects fairly. The two later had twins, a boy named Makanu and a girl named Tchia. To their delight, both parents discovered that their children had special gifts. A local shaman named Pwi Dua knew of these gifts and ordained to the people that they should be offered to the God of the Depths Meavora. This caused the country's citizens to grow fearful of Meavora's wrath which led them to force Joxu and Heia to bring their children to Meavora's lair in the big hole of Hua. Pwi Dua threw Makanu into Hua and approached Joxu to do the same with Tchia. However, the Legendary Hero appeared and attacked Pwi Dua which allowed Joxu to escape with Tchia.

Afterwards, the Hero took Heia to the island of Ieji Sinöe to keep her safe. The Hero then introduced herself as Kavere, the islands lone guardian. Over the next twelve years, Heia was trained by Kavere to help her cope with the loss of her son as well as help her on her quest for revenge. It was also during this time that she befriended the Mwaken as well as the legendary animal Xetiwa and used it to travel. She was also gifted Kavere's traditional warrior outfit to disguise her identity. Following her husband's capture by Pwi Dua, Heia donned her disguise and arrived at Ga Ngazo to rescue her daughter. She then brought her daughter to Ieji Sinöe and departed. Sometime later, Heia confronted Pwi Dua at Weliwele as he was taking prisoners and chased after him. After Tchia managed to shutdown Xupi Maano to release Joxu and the other prisoners, Heia arrived and joined her daughter. The pair then witnessed Pwi Dua throw explosives into the compound, destroying it and klling all of the prisoners. Heia and Tchia searched through the rubble and found a mortally wounded Joxu. Heia unmasked herself and held Joxu's hand as he passed away. After mourning the death of Joxu and the others, Tchia and Heia took his body to Uma and buried him there.

Following the funeral, Tchia questioned her mother and they embraced. That night, the two bonded with one another by the campfire and played a song together. The next morning, Heia departed for Ieji Sinöe and left a note telling Tchia to meet her there. At the island, Heia was speaking with Kavere when Tchia met up with them. Kavere told the girl that there was more she needed to know and directed her to the Banyan Tree. After Tchia returned from the tree, they concocted a plan to save all of the children that had been devoured by Meavora. Heia brought Tchia to Ga Ngazo to confront Meavora. Tchia subsequently agreed to surrender herself on the condition that Meavora release Tre from his cage. Heia and Tre then watched as Meavora devoured Tchia.

A short time later, however, Meavora expelled all of the children he devoured from his body and returned to his wood worm form. As they debated on what to do with Meavora, Heia promptly squished and killed him. With Meavora now gone, Pwi Dua took Tchia's brother Makanu captive and ran outside. As his aircraft arrived, Pwi Dua fatally stabbed Makanu with his machete and threw him towards the crowd. While Heia managed to catch him, Makanu had already passed away from his injuries. As Heia lay weeping over her son's body, Tchia used her gift to possess Pwi Dua's machete once again and severed his hand before returning to her mother to mourn. To everyone's surprise, Tre used his own power to heal Makanu though it cost him his life in the process. As peace had been restored, Heia became Queen once again. She spent the rest of her days overseeing the archipelago and raising Makanu at Ga Ngazo.
